Property Accountant Role - North Vancouver

Your new company

We are working with a well-established property management firm headquartered in North Vancouver, BC, looking for a Property Accountant to be responsible for the full-cycle accounting requirements for a portfolio of commercial, retail, and industrial properties.


Your new role

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial, retail, and industrial properties.
  • Collaborate with leadership and property managers to support financial reporting and optimize property performance.
  • Set up lease agreements and generate rental notices using property management software.
  • Record rent payments, handle billings and chargebacks, and reconcile tenant accounts.
  • File applicable tax rebates (GST, Parking Tax, PST).
  • Conduct monthly general ledger reviews and prepare journal entries.
  • Generate financial statements, reconcile accounts, and report variances.
  • Assist in compiling property budgets and year-end operating cost reconciliations.
  • Prepare audit documentation and respond to tenant inquiries.
  • Support onboarding of new properties into the accounting system.


What you'll need to succeed

  • 2–3 years of experience in commercial property accounting.
  • CPA designation preferred (or equivalent education and experience).
  • Proficiency in Spectra, Yardi Voyager/Breeze, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and work ethic.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-driven with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
