Our client, a commercial real estate company, is seeking to fill the role of Property Accountant for their Montreal team. They own and manage a diverse portfolio of commercial properties in Ontario and Quebec, and are committed to excellence and innovation in property management.

Reporting to the financial controller, the property accountant will be responsible for ensuring a designation portfolio's financial operations. The responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

• Manage and oversee the accounting operations for a portfolio of commercial properties.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of annual audits and tax filings.
• Special projects, such as renovation projects or internal controls.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial property accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
