Work for a Leading Real Estate Developer

Your new company

We are working with a leading real estate developer with over 70 years of experience. They deliver high-quality industrial, commercial, and residential projects through a fully integrated model—covering design, construction, and property management. They are looking for a strong Property Accountant to take ownership of the full-cycle accounting and reporting for an assigned portfolio of income properties.

Your new role

  • Administer lease and tenant records in Yardi and produce annual rent schedules.
  • Prepare tenant operating cost/CAM reconciliations and address tenant inquiries.
  • Audit and validate rent rolls for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate tenant chargebacks and ensure proper back‑up and approvals.
  • Calculate monthly management fees.
  • Support the annual property budgeting
  • Create budget‑to‑actual variance analyses and flag material variances with commentary.
  • Onboard new properties; capitalize fixed assets and set up amortization schedules.
  • Assist with asset valuation modelling and supporting calculations.
  • Partner closely with Property Management and Leasing teams.
  • Maintain the general ledger in accordance with GAAP, including accruals, amortization, and bad debt provisions.
  • Oversee accounts receivable reporting and assist with collections activities.
  • Monitor the accounts payable cycle, including invoice and purchase order approvals.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Recognized accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA, or CA) plus university‑level education is preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in property management and full‑cycle real estate accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency with Yardi; strong Microsoft 365 skills (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to understand the broader business context.
  • Integrity, accountability, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Strong analytical mindset with sound decision ‑making and clear written/verbal communication.
  • Proven ability to work proactively—independently and within a collaborative team.
  • Skilled at balancing competing priorities, meeting deadlines, and keeping stakeholders informed.

What you'll get in return

  • Up to 85k salary + discretionary bonus
  • 3 weeks vacation
  • RRSP match
  • Full group benefits program
  • Learning and development support
