Hays Specialist Recruitment is partnering with a leading organization in the energy sector to hire an Intermediate Project Manager for a long-term contract. This opportunity sits within a facilities integrity and capital projects team supporting critical infrastructure across Canada. You will join a collaborative and safety-focused environment, contributing to the planning and execution of regulated programs that ensure reliable and efficient operations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee General Plant Maintenance Capital (GPMC) projects related to process safety-critical equipment
  • Plan, organize, and execute facilities integrity and maintenance programs across pipeline systems
  • Establish project schedules and cost forecasts in collaboration with project controls teams
  • Monitor project execution to ensure alignment with regulatory and corporate requirements
  • Direct and coordinate the work of external consultants, contractors, and vendors
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across operations, engineering, and commercial teams to drive project success
  • Optimize allocation of field resources to support efficient project execution
  • Analyze program data to identify opportunities for cost savings and data integrity improvements
  • Support the development and enhancement of project management tools, processes, and standards
  • Provide regular updates and reporting to leadership on project progress, risks, and outcomes


What You Need to Succeed
  • Minimum 3+ years of project management experience, ideally within infrastructure, energy, or industrial environments
  • Solid understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and lifecycle processes
  • Experience managing capital or maintenance-related projects
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence without direct authority
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel (~25%) for site visits, meetings, and training
Nice to Have
  • University degree, technical diploma, or formal project management training/certification
  • Experience in the energy, pipeline, or facilities integrity space
  • Exposure to regulated environments and compliance-driven projects
  • Experience supporting process improvements or project management frameworks
