Our client is a leading manufacturing organisation with in-house engineering capabilities for custom-built machinery parts. They have a job open for Production Manager / Fabrication Manager for their low-volume, specialty custom-made machine parts plant with 70–80 associates (approx.) in a 2-shift operation, in Mississauga – Brampton, ON area. This is hands-on leadership, proving leadership to machinists, welders, fabricators and similar, being fully responsible for process flow for each project and ensuring material and labour availability. 10+ years in leading fabrication shops under Canadian H&S requirements is a MUST-have.

The Production Manager / Fabrication Manager (custom fabrication)is fully responsible for giving leadership to the plant shop floor — machining, cutting, bending and welding within this custom fabrication plant and be responsible for Production Flow, Planning, Scheduling, Material Planning and supervises processes in Machining, Cutting, Bending, Welding and similar. You will be responsible for scheduling, safety, performance management, coaching and mentoring. You will work closely with suppliers for material flow and shipping to ensure on-time delivery.

Production Manager / Fabrication Manager (low volume fabrication) will ideally have 10+ years as a welder/ welder fitter/ machinist with 10+ years as shop foreman / Plant Manager / Production Manager within the Canadian Health & Safety requirements in custom-made (MUST) machining welding metal fabrication shop. Hands-on welding experience as a welder (TIG) with leadership / management/ team lead experience highly preferred.
