Procurement Specialist

18 month contract

35-45/hr

In this role, you will deliver end‑to‑end procurement services, including sourcing goods and services, preparing and managing RFXs, developing and administering contracts, and coordinating approvals in alignment with Public Procurement directives. You will work closely with internal clients and external vendors, support contract performance, resolve procurement issues, and expedite purchase orders to meet operational requirements. The role also involves providing strategic advice, procurement expertise, and practical guidance to ensure timely, compliant, and value‑for‑money procurement outcomes.

The successful candidate must have demonstrated public‑sector procurement experience with a strong working knowledge of the Broader Public Sector (BPS) OR Ontario Public Service ( OPS ) Procurement Directives. This includes hands‑on experience managing the full end‑to‑end procurement lifecycle; from planning and requirements definition through competitive sourcing (RFP, RFQ, RFS), evaluation, negotiation, contract award, and ongoing contract administration. The role requires the ability to work closely with diverse stakeholders to clarify needs, manage multiple procurements simultaneously, ensure compliance and audit readiness, and deliver best‑value outcomes.
