Our client is currently seeking a Preconstruction Manager to join their team in Calgary

Your new company :

A dynamic and growing construction management firm is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to support its expanding portfolio of commercial and multi-family projects across Western Canada. Your new role :

As the Preconstruction Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting business development, estimating, and project planning efforts. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate, competitive, and strategic bids and proposals. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering quality construction outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work.
  • Conduct material and quantity takeoffs using digital tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
  • Submit competitive bids and proposals, ensuring compliance with bid requirements.
  • Source and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Identify and manage project risks through strategic allowances and contingencies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to clarify scope.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits.
  • Support budget monitoring and recommend cost-saving alternatives during construction.

Qualifications:

  • Background in Construction Project Management, Estimating, or Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience working with a general contractor on commercial and multi-family projects.
  • Proficiency with estimating software, Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to embrace innovative technologies.
