Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with an Government company based in Vancouver, BC We are currently hiring a Payroll Specialist to join their team for a 1 month contract to start, with potential to extend. This candidate will be required to work full time hours, fully in office and start immediately.

Your new role

Manages, plans and organizes payroll on bi-weekly basis.
Actions changes within UKG.
Calculates various adjustments, including overtime, vacation, final, retro and other pays.
Calculate and make remittances to government as required by Law and other third-party payments, such as benefits providers, union, garnishments, and pension contributions. Interprets Pension Plan text.
Manually calculates (via CRA produced software) off-cycle payments due (i.e. Bonuses, Final pay, Maternity Top-up payments, various payroll adjustment) based on authorized documents provided by HR and prepares payments.

What you'll need to succeed

Experience processing Canadian Payroll, specifically within BC.
Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration or other relevant specialization
