Hiring Organizational Change Manager for a 5-Month Contract in Calgary

The Senior Organizational Change Manager supports internal clients in delivering complex programs and initiatives that are strategic in nature and have substantial implications for the organization’s performance. Organizational Change Management (OCM) focuses on preparing the organization to support and adopt new, more effective, ways of working, including changes to programs, processes, systems, organizational design/structure, roles, capabilities and culture.

Your new role

The Senior Change Manager:
• Serves as a change agent, business partner, coach, and facilitator
• Manages resources associated with OCM deliverables - including change advisors, communication specialists, training/learning advisors, program coordinators, and business analysts
• Supports project management, governance and sponsorship activities associated with large-scale programs and initiatives, and ensures integration and alignment across multiple concurrent programs and initiatives.
• Partners with Human Resources consultants, talent management and learning specialists and project teams to develop and deliver integrated OCM solutions
• Supports the objectives of the corporate organizational change management function through sharing of expertise and best practices, adoption of corporate OCM standards, and active participation in the OCM community
Decision-Making:
Makes decisions and recommendations on highly complicated and complex issues without formal processes or precedents. Exercise resourcefulness and ingenuity to develop effective integrated solutions.
Utilities:
• Applies expert OCM knowledge to prepare and deliver change management assessments and plans for large-scale and complex programs and initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups and levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
• Follows change management standards and principles; utilizes or modifies available tools and services to implement a structured best-fit change approach within a program or initiative
• Completes and assesses detailed change impact and stakeholder analyses
• Develops the OCM strategy and supporting plans, including communication, sponsor roadmap, training, coaching, management of risk and issues and acceptance/resistance
• Oversees and/or performs the required communication, training and other change management activities
• May be required to prepare key stakeholders to present OCM deliverables such as communications and presentations or training
• Partners with Human Resources consultants, Talent Management and Learning and Development, and/or project teams to develop and deliver holistic/integrated OCM solutions, including:
O Accurate change impact and stakeholder analysis of appropriate communications and learning approaches. o Effective transition management
O Effective risk management/mitigation
O Support for leaders in leading through change
O An aligned approach to organizational design and talent management elements to support change objectives
• Manages OCM budgets, project costs and schedule and provides progress reports to leadership
• Facilitates and consults with senior leaders at all levels to gain sponsorship, approval and engagement of the business and the affected key audiences in executing the change management strategy
• Provides coaching in change management, resistance management and change sponsorship to the project manager, business lead, change sponsor, project team, the extended change team, and others identified through stakeholder assessment
• Continuously assesses potential issues/risks, conflicting priorities, and opportunities for integration across multiple concurrent programs/initiatives, and raise these to leadership
• Evaluates the success of change management activities and provides progress reports to the broad set of stakeholders
• Monitors change adoption in the organization and plan additional OCM activities to support gaps in adoption or continued realization of change benefits.
• Facilitates and guides senior leaders and business process owners on long-term sustainment to operationalize and embed changes
• Continually builds knowledge and acumen in all aspects of the organization, the business, our processes and systems
• Supports the objectives of the company's corporate organizational change management function through:
O Sharing of expertise and best practices
O Adoption of corporate OCM, communications and learning & development standards
O Contribution to the continual improvement of the corporate OCM methodology and tools
O Active participation in the broader OCM community of practice
O Championing the role of the OCM function.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Change Management certification (e.g., Prosci, CCMP, ACMP) highly preferred
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in organizational change management
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale, complex change initiatives
  • Experience working with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with change management methodologies
  • Experience designing and delivering training programs and coaching leaders through change
  • Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables across multiple initiatives
  • Ability to influence and guide senior leaders and business process owners
  • Experience working with HR, Talent Management, and Learning & Development teams
