Operations Supervisor (Real Estate and Facilities)
Hays is proud to be partnering with a leading Real Estate company to hire a skilled Operations Supervisor to support a diverse portfolio of commercial and industrial properties across the GTA.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and experienced professional to contribute to the smooth operation and maintenance of high-performing assets.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing and executing maintenance, renovation, and improvement projects across the company’s property portfolio. This hands-on role ensures that all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Supervisor also supports day-to-day building operations, maintains site safety and cleanliness, ensures fire protection systems remain functional during construction, and communicates effectively with tenants to minimize disruption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate assigned maintenance improvement projects from planning through completion, under the direction of the Operations Manager.
- Provide operational support to the Operations and Property Managers, assisting with building maintenance, service requests, and issue resolution.
- Manage and coordinate contractors, consultants, and internal staff as required.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, and scope, escalating concerns to the Operations Manager when necessary.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety compliance and maintain clean, organized work areas.
- Ensure fire safety equipment remains accessible and operational throughout all construction activities.
- Review contractor quotes, invoices, and change orders, providing recommendations and feedback.
- Communicate proactively with tenants, issuing timely notices and coordinating work to minimize impact.
- Deliver regular project updates and reports to the Operations Manager.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- 7 - 10 years of experience in building operations, or project coordination.
- Solid understanding of maintenance practices, building systems, and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with roofing systems and major building components including HVAC, plumbing, exterior envelope, and parking infrastructure.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong skills in budgeting, scheduling, and contractor oversight.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented and hands-on approach to project execution.
- Technical insight into building infrastructure and maintenance requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective tenant and contractor engagement.
- Reliable team player who collaborates closely with Operations and Property Managers and supports the broader operations team.

Pay range and compensation package
In return for this position, the successful candidate will receive a compensation package of $90,000, 3 weeks vacation plus benefits.
