Network Specialist

Your new company
Our client, a major player in the healthcare sector, is looking for an IT Networking Specialist for a 12-month contract. This role is essential to support the network infrastructure and ensure system security and performance.

Your new role
As an IT Networking Specialist, you will work on-site in Montreal (35 hours per week). Your daily responsibilities will include:
  • Managing VLANs to segment physical networks, improve security, and optimize bandwidth.
  • Administering network switches and integrating equipment (computers, servers, printers).
  • Implementing and maintaining monitoring solutions to track network performance and connectivity.
  • Managing Wi-Fi and network security devices.
  • Overseeing incoming and outgoing connections with partners and service providers.
  • Collaborating with IT teams to integrate networks into existing infrastructure.
  • Planning and executing upgrades and updates for network equipment and services.
  • Managing budgets and costs related to network equipment and services.
  • Providing training and mentorship to team members on best practices in network management.
What you'll need to succeed
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent (or college diploma with relevant experience).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years in enterprise IT systems and telecommunications network analysis (within the last 10 years).
    • 3 years in network architecture and infrastructure projects (within the last 5 years).
    • Participation in 2 major network implementation projects (within the last 5 years).
  • Technical skills:
    • Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
    • Experience managing routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Certifications (at least one):
    • Cisco CCNP
    • Juniper JNCIA
    • CompTIA Network+
    • Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate
    • Or equivalent.
  • Language: Excellent oral and written communication skills in French.
  • Experience in business requirements modeling, system implementation, risk analysis, and financial scenario development.
