Our client, a major player in the healthcare sector, is looking for an IT Networking Specialist for a 12-month contract. This role is essential to support the network infrastructure and ensure system security and performance.
Your new role
As an IT Networking Specialist, you will work on-site in Montreal (35 hours per week). Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Managing VLANs to segment physical networks, improve security, and optimize bandwidth.
- Administering network switches and integrating equipment (computers, servers, printers).
- Implementing and maintaining monitoring solutions to track network performance and connectivity.
- Managing Wi-Fi and network security devices.
- Overseeing incoming and outgoing connections with partners and service providers.
- Collaborating with IT teams to integrate networks into existing infrastructure.
- Planning and executing upgrades and updates for network equipment and services.
- Managing budgets and costs related to network equipment and services.
- Providing training and mentorship to team members on best practices in network management.
What you'll need to succeed
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent (or college diploma with relevant experience).
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years in enterprise IT systems and telecommunications network analysis (within the last 10 years).
- 3 years in network architecture and infrastructure projects (within the last 5 years).
- Participation in 2 major network implementation projects (within the last 5 years).
- Technical skills:
- Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Experience managing routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Certifications (at least one):
- Cisco CCNP
- Juniper JNCIA
- CompTIA Network+
- Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate
- Or equivalent.
- Language: Excellent oral and written communication skills in French.
- Experience in business requirements modeling, system implementation, risk analysis, and financial scenario development.
