Network Engineer IP/MPLS

Your new role
As an IP/MPLS Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, detailed engineering and deployment of IP telecommunications equipment in a variety of technical environments, including substations, power plants and administrative buildings.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Have a minimum of 6 years of experience as an engineer;
  • Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Carry out site surveys and inspections (notes, photos, details) and write or validate the associated reports;
  • Write the technical component of the mandates for the professional services required as part of the project and validate the engineering deliverables produced by the firms;
  • Perform technical calculations, diagrams and details;
  • Produce complete and detailed engineering plans and specifications;
  • Define components and record the list of materials and order slips for required materials;
  • Provide technical support during the completion of work and commissioning and participate in the development of deployment plans;
  • Ensure the updating of inventory systems as well as overall diagrams of the telecommunications network;
  • Assist, as required, with the Project Manager in establishing the project schedule by identifying issues and technical dependencies affecting the project.
  • Participate in the drafting of standards and technical guides for the implementation of best practices within the company;
  • Participate in the technical aspect of the approval and acquisition process of new equipment;
  • Provide technical and operational support in the event of network outages;
  • Guide operating practices to ensure continuity of services;
  • Provide technical support to network planning and architecture activities;
  • Develop the parameterization of telecommunications equipment, ensure the compliance of configurations and supervise changes in network configurations as well as production strategies;
