Job title: Material Coordinator
Location: Calgary, AB HYBRID
Contract Length: April 20, 2026 – April 20, 2027
Rate: CAD $30/hr — $35/hr.

Position Overview
  • The Material Coordinator (office-based) is responsible for managing the end-to-end coordination of materials supporting Canadian Gas Projects. The role ensures timely delivery of project materials to the correct locations while working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reporting to the Manager, Material Coordination and Project Support, this role supports Project Managers, Project Engineers, Supply Chain Buyers, Expeditors, Warehouse teams, and construction partners to enable efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities
Material Planning & Coordination
  • Review Bill of Materials (BOM) with Project Engineers at key project milestones (30%, 60%, 90% design and IFC) to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain and update the Material Coordinator tracking sheet to reflect all required materials.
  • Identify available inventory or surplus materials in collaboration with Materials Management and Warehouse teams.
Procurement & SAP Transactions
  • Create SAP purchase requisitions and/or reservations based on engineering design requirements.
  • Submit requests for new Material Masters when existing catalog items do not meet project needs.
  • Enter Goods Receipts in SAP for all deliveries (excluding client warehouse receipts).
Documentation & Compliance
  • Locate and manage material documentation such as Material Test Records (MTRs) needed for construction and commissioning.
  • Resolve discrepancies related to material quantity, quality, or supporting documents.
Expediting & Logistics
  • Coordinate with Expeditors to identify risks such as late deliveries or shortages and develop recovery plans.
  • Ensure suppliers and fabricators adhere to delivery schedules to meet RAS (Required at Site) dates.
  • Provide construction teams with all relevant material-related documentation.
Warehouse & Field Coordination
  • Instruct the Warehouse team to release materials to fabricators or construction contractors.
  • Oversee and coordinate physical material receipt at warehouses, project sites, fabricators, or contractors.
  • Identify surplus materials and coordinate transfer to inventory or Investment Recovery.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a project environment, preferably in oil & gas, pipeline, or power industries.
  • Experience in material coordination, procurement, expediting, and/or warehousing.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks and competing deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (Technical Diploma, Certificate, or University Degree).
  • Knowledge of materials and equipment is commonly used in pipeline and facility construction.
  • Ability to read engineered design drawings and Bills of Material.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in:
    • SAP (requisition & receiving)
    • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience using AI tools or managing PowerBI dashboards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
