Your New Role As Manager, Fund Accounting, Private Assets you’ll lead a high-performing team responsible for delivering fund accounting services to a portfolio of complex private equity clients. You’ll oversee handle the following key responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure alignment with strategic business objectives.
  • Manage the full fund accounting cycle for Private Equity Funds, including NAV calculations, financial statements, and partner/shareholder allocations.
  • Review fund-specific expenses and ensure accurate calculation of fees (e.g., management, admin, carried interest).
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and partnership agreements.
  • Maintain high-quality client service by managing deliverables, responding to queries, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise with global teams (Investor Relations, Tax, Financial Reporting, etc.) and external auditors.
  • Support client onboarding and provide technical accounting expertise.
  • Drive operational efficiency and implement quality control procedures.
  • Lead team development through performance reviews, training, and fostering a collaborative, problem-solving culture.

This is a newly created role due to business growth, with a clear and structured path to a Vice President position.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a professional accounting designation (CPA, CFA, CGA, CMA, CA).
  • 2-4+ years of experience managing fund accounting teams.
  • 3–5 years of fund accounting experience in Private Equity or related financial institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of US and Canadian GAAP and other accounting standards.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing general ledgers and financial statements.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word; experience with FIS Investran is a strong asset.
