Your new role
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models across business units, and lead the Data Governance Council.
  • Design and implement data quality standards, metrics, and monitoring processes; oversee data profiling, cleansing, and validation.
  • Implement metadata management and master data management practices to enhance data discoverability and harmonization.
  • Partner with business leaders, IT, and analytics teams to align data initiatives with strategic priorities and promote data literacy.
  • Manage a team of data governance specialists, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
What You'll Need to Succeed
  • A minimum of 11 years’ experience in data management, governance, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in mining, heavy industry, or industrial operations is preferred.
  • Proficiency in data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica), metadata management, and data quality platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud data ecosystems (Azure, AWS, GCP), data lakes, and modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into governance solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving cultural change.
  • Deep understanding of data privacy laws, compliance frameworks, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 8000, DAMA-DMBOK).
