Our client is one of the largest fleet-based transportation company and has a job open for Dispatcher / Logistics Coordinator to be located in
Mississauga / Etobicoke / Toronto –West area. This is a call centre/ logistics control room centre with heavy inbound and outbound phone call volume, e-mails and similar communication to manage their air, rail and road transportation through company drivers and 3rd party carriers. This will be a 3-month rotating shift (days-afternoons -nights) with weekend work on rotation. This is for 5 days on site.

The Dispatcher / Logistics Coordinator is responsible for being the front line of support to all drivers and be able to assist in bad weather conditions, accidents, road closures and delays. You are responsible for informing all internal and external customers of any possible delays and working with drivers and 3rd party carriers for any roadside assistance, mechanical issues, accidents, weather delays and similar. You will receive calls from drivers for any firsthand issues and provide solutions, corrective actions and maintain all communication.

Dispatcher / Logistics Coordinator will have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of dispatch/ logistics coordinator / transportation coordinator experience with strong knowledge of the Canadian geography. Experience and ability to deal with short deadline challenges, working with rescue teams like police, ambulances and similar; ability to solve problems and be able to work independently is a MUST. Strong knowledge of geography, local city routes, strong computer skills with TMS Transportation Management Systems and similar helps. The ability to multitask, a good phone demeanour, and excellent time management skills are all helpful. Excellent English communication skills is a MUST.
