We're recruiting for an Assistant Resident Manager role in Cornwall.

Location: On-site, full-time (includes alternating weekends and on-call duties)

HAYS Recruitment is proud to support a key client in the search for a dedicated Assistant Resident Manager. This live-in role offers the opportunity to join one of Canada’s leading property management firms, which oversees a substantial portfolio of multi-residential assets across six provinces.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining property standards, delivering exceptional customer service, and fostering a welcoming residential community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and interact with residents in a professional and friendly manner
  • Promote a welcoming atmosphere throughout the property
  • Respond to resident concerns and service requests within 24 hours
  • Handle administrative tasks including lease renewals, notices, and application processing
  • Organize and host resident engagement events such as seasonal gatherings
  • Maintain cleanliness of common areas including lobbies, amenity spaces, parking garages, patios, and rooftops
  • Safely handle and apply cleaning chemicals in accordance with WHMIS standards
  • Deep clean vacant units to ensure move-in readiness
  • Monitor and clean garbage chutes and recycling rooms
  • Coordinate waste collection with municipal schedules
  • Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including snow and ice removal
  • Assist residents with submitting maintenance requests
  • Conduct daily inspections of common areas and address minor deficiencies
  • Report safety hazards and curb appeal issues to the supervisor
  • Support HVAC monitoring and basic troubleshooting of electrical, plumbing, boiler, and chiller systems
  • Assist with scheduling and oversight of contractors and tradespeople
  • Understand fire and life safety systems
  • Assist with emergency response procedures
Qualifications

  • Previous experience in property management or similar roles is an asset
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to perform cleaning and light maintenance tasks
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and moving heavier items such as appliances and garbage bins
