HAYS Recruitment is hiring multiple Live-In Building Superintendents for a Key Client in Ottawa.

HAYS Specialist Recruitment, on behalf of a key client in Ottawa, is seeking a dedicated and reliable Live-In Building Superintendent to manage a high-rise apartment complex. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on individual to take charge of building maintenance and resident support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all daily superintendent duties for a high-rise apartment building.
  • Conduct minor repairs and troubleshooting for essential systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
  • Handle routine maintenance and repairs on appliances, as well as painting and drywall work.
  • Operate and maintain various equipment such as power tools, security systems, small tractors (for lawn/snow), snow blowers, and swimming pool equipment.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision to address tasks assigned by the Property Manager.
  • Be available for on-call duties, including day, weekend, and evening shifts as required.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a highly competitive total compensation package.

  • Base Salary: $38,000 - $40,000
  • Live-In Accommodation: A generous benefit package, which includes a two-bedroom unit, one parking space, storage, and all utilities paid.
Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Building Superintendent or in a similar maintenance role is an asset.
  • Must be fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Possess your own set of tools and be able to obtain a basic security clearance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with tenants and staff.
