A Toronto law firm is hiring a Litigation Legal Assistant to support two lawyers in commercial litigation.

Your new role

This position supports two lawyers within a busy commercial litigation practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing legal documents related to complex disputes, managing client files, scheduling meetings, and handling court filings. Additional duties include drafting correspondence, organizing motion and trial records, and performing general administrative tasks such as docket entry and billing.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Completion of a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial litigation environment
  • Exposure to commercial/civil litigation experience must involve disputes between parties at the business and commercial level
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario court rules, procedures, and filing requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PDF software, DocuSign, and document management systems (e.g., iManage)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication abilities and a client-service mindset
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
