A well-established boutique law firm specializing in insurance defence with offices across Ontario is seeking a skilled Legal Assistant/Law Clerk to join their team in Downtown Toronto. Known for delivering exceptional client service and maintaining a collaborative work environment, this firm offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic and supportive setting.

Your new role

In this role, you will provide comprehensive legal administrative support to lawyers handling Accident Benefits files. Responsibilities include:
  • Preparing and drafting legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings.
  • Managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
  • Organizing and maintaining client files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Communicating with clients, insurers, and other stakeholders regarding case updates.
  • Assisting with preparation for hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk in insurance defence, with a focus on Accident Benefits.
  • Solid understanding of the
    Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS) and related procedures.
  • Proficiency in legal software and MS Office applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
