As their real estate practice continues to expand, they are seeking a detail-oriented and flexible Legal Assistant to join their collaborative environment.
Your New Role
As a Real Estate Legal Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting real estate transactions from contract to closing. You will prepare and organize transaction documents, coordinate with clients and third parties, assist with title-related matters, track critical deadlines, draft correspondence, and maintain organized digital and physical files. The position also includes providing administrative support to senior team members and assisting with banking requirements as needed.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing, reviewing, and organizing real estate transaction documents, including contracts, closing statements, deeds, and title documents
- Coordinating and communicating with clients, real estate agents, lenders, title companies, and other parties involved
- Maintaining consistent communication with clients throughout the transaction
- Managing and tracking deadlines for contingencies, inspections, and closing schedules
- Assisting with title searches and reviewing title commitments
- Drafting correspondence and legal documents
- Maintaining organized digital and physical filing systems
- Providing administrative support to the Managing Partner, Head Law Clerk, and Law Clerks
- Ensuring accuracy and completeness of all documentation
- Attending major banks for transactional needs (valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required)
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk in a real estate law setting
- A Legal Assistant or Law Clerk diploma from a recognized institution
- Strong knowledge of real estate transaction processes
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to support multiple priorities
- Strong planning abilities and the capacity to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to follow up and obtain information with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal practice management software (Unity and PCLaw required)
- Strong communication skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Superior writing, proofreading, and editing abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility and initiative to meet the needs of the practice
