Your new role

The firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Law Clerk with 4+ years of experience to join their team in a 1:1 work share arrangement with a Senior Associate.

This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week in the office.

The successful candidate will work closely with a senior lawyer on a wide range of commercial litigation matters, managing files from inception to resolution.


Key responsibilities include:
  • Drafting legal documents including Statements of Claim, demand letters, default judgment materials, and bankruptcy filings.
  • Preparing agreements and consents (e.g., forbearance, standstill, judgment, receivership).
  • Managing deadlines and appointments using MyCase.
  • Reviewing and organizing client documents and correspondence.
  • Conducting searches (corporate profiles, PPSA, bankruptcy, etc.).
  • Communicating with financial institutions via their platforms.
  • Utilizing Caselines for document hyperlinking and preparation.
  • Handling billing tasks in Soluno, including posting disbursements and preparing prebills.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as sending registered mail and maintaining file organization.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 4+ years of law clerk experience in commercial litigation.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Caselines, including hyperlinking documents.
  • Familiarity with MyCase and Soluno is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, organized, and collaborative approach to work.
