Hays Recruitment has partnered up with an award winning home builder in Calgary. We are looking or a Property Accountant to join their team immediately, for a 3 month contract, with potential to extend. This is a full time role, Monday to Friday, fully in office.

Your new role

• Manage full‑cycle accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations for condominium corporations.
• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial statements and supplementary financial reports.
• Input and maintain operating budgets, ensuring alignment with corporate financial plans.
• Collaborate closely with the Property Management Team to reconcile all receivable and payable accounts.
• Support external audit processes by preparing working papers, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Ensure all monthly financial and management reporting is completed accurately and submitted on time.
• Respond promptly and professionally to financial inquiries from condominium board members.
• Process high‑volume vendor invoices and owner charges with accurate coding and timely data entry.
• Post and reconcile monthly condominium fees to maintain accurate accounting records.
• Coordinate with the Administrative department to update AR ledgers and process adjustments as required.
• Assist with arrears management, including monitoring aged receivables and supporting collection efforts.

What you'll need to succeed

• 3 + years of property accountant experience.
• Experience with Yardi Voyager software.
• Post-Secondary education in accounting or business.
• Accuracy with a balance of speed while working in accounting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, understanding that it is better sometimes to make a phone call vs. emailing when working to resolve challenges
