Our client has an immediate opening for a skilled and experienced Power Platform Developer to join their team on 8 month contract-to-hire to help lead the design, development, deployment, and management of solutions within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem. Role can be done remotely with travel to Toronto or Ottawa 2-3 times a year.

This role requires deep expertise in Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, Dataverse, Dataflows, and security architecture, with a strong understanding of enterprise-grade app development and governance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build advanced Canvas and Model-Driven Power Apps
• Develop and manage Power Automate flows for business process automation
• Create and maintain Dataflows for data ingestion and transformation
• Architect and manage Dataverse tables, relationships, and metadata
• Implement and manage security roles, field-level security, and user access controls
• Package and deploy solutions using Power Platform Solutions for ALM (Application Lifecycle Management)
• Integrate Power Apps with external data sources (SQL, SharePoint, APIs, etc.)
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutions
• Monitor app performance and usage to troubleshoot issues. Implement enhancements, and deliver new features within established timelines
• Ensure compliance with governance policies and best practices
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers and citizen developers
• Ensure continuous improvement by proactively identifying opportunities to optimize app performance, usability, and integration with other systems.
• Collaborate closely with solution architects to validate technical feasibility and ensure scalable, maintainable designs
• Facilitate backlog grooming sessions, translating business requirements into actionable user stories and technical tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform
• Expert-level proficiency in Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven) and Power Fx
• Strong experience with Power Automate, including complex flow logic and connectors
• Deep understanding of Dataverse architecture, table design, and data modeling
• Experience with Dataflows (Power Apps, Fabric) including scheduled refreshes and transformations
• Knowledge of security roles, business units, and environment-level permissions
• Familiarity with solution management, versioning, and deployment strategies
• Ability to integrate with Microsoft 365, Azure, and third-party services
• Solid understanding of governance, compliance, and environment strategy
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
• Quick to learn and adapt, resourceful
• Strong experience in table management, data transformation and mapping.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Power Platform App Maker Associate or Power Platform Developer Associate
• Experience with Power BI, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, or custom connectors
• Experience in AWS and Amazon SQS
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for Power Platform
• Background in enterprise IT, data architecture, or business analysis
• Additional experience in any of the following: JSON, REST/SOAP, Python, C++, SQL, an asset
