A mid-size architecture firm with over 40 years of experience in Edmonton, known for its diverse project experience, are seeking an Intermediate Architectural Technologist. They have worked on multi-million dollar projects; Mixed-Use, Commercial Retail, Interiors, Corporate, Industrial, Seniors Housing, Government, Institutional, and Religious projects. With a fresh new perspective on architecture and a recent rebranding, the firm is passionate about taking bold moves with its design. They value the social spaces they create and are looking for like-minded individuals that can help propel the architecture industry in Edmonton and expand into BC.

Your new role

In this job your role and responsibilities will include; developing and preparing Design Development (DD) drawings and outline specifications, as well as Contract Documents (CD) and detailed specifications. You will assist the Contract Administrator during construction and perform code analysis to ensure compliance. Responsibilities include coordinating with consultants, supporting quality control procedures, and managing smaller projects independently. Additionally, you will provide mentorship and guidance to junior technologists while also taking direction from senior team members. The position requires proficiency in printing, assembling, circulating, and filing project documents, ensuring smooth documentation processes throughout the project lifecycle.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will possess a minimum of 4 years of project work experience (ideally institutional) and impressive technical knowledge. You will be proficient in Revit. Proven experience as project lead on small to medium-sized projects and support role on larger projects. A solid understanding of MEP and structural building system and building codes is required.

What you'll get in return

The successful candidate will receive a compensation package of $60k-75K (dependent on experience) + benefits, free street parking and the week off over Christmas.
