Our client is a Calgary-based architecture studio who designs a mix of sports & recreational, residential, commercial, and interior spaces, with a strong focus on tenant improvements and boutique projects. They are known for practical, well-thought-out designs and are looking for a creative Interior Designer to join their growing team. This a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working on thoughtful interiors and wants to be part of a close-knit, hands-on team. *this is an in office position
Your new role
Reporting to the Director of Interior Design, this role blends creativity with technical precision across all phases of a project, from initial site visits to final completion. You will collaborate with a fast-paced, supportive team on a range of projects including tenant improvements, multi-story residential, commercial, and institutional developments. In your role, your duties and responsibilities will include: space planning, schematic design, technical documentation, site reviews, and coordination with clients and consultants. You’ll prepare permit and tender packages, ensure code compliance, and support construction administration. The role also involves contributing to presentations, maintaining the materials library, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring quality and consistency across deliverables.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have minimum of 4 years’ experience in an interior design or architectural technologist role. Prior commercial, residential and/ or sports & recreational project experience is required. You will have an Architectural Technology Diploma or equivalent and LEED AP is considered a strong asset. You must have strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. Experience of the full lifecycle of drawing packages, from concept and schematic design through to detailed working drawings, permit documentation, and construction administration. Sound knowledge of local building codes and bylaws is a must.
