HR generalist background

We are currently partnering with a client in the Engineering and Manufacturing industry to recruit for a newly created role as HR Manager to help build and streamline the Human Resources function within a growing organization. About the Role

This is a hands-on, builder role suited to an HR professional who thrives in fast-growing, busy environments and is comfortable creating processes and programs from the ground up. The HR Manager will partner closely with business leaders while actively supporting day-to-day HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

Build and lead the HR function with a keen eye for detail and data-driven decisions
Develop HR strategy, policies, and scalable people programs
Oversee recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compensation
Implement HRIS platforms, onboarding processes, and compliance frameworks
Support leaders with workforce planning, coaching, and organizational design
Ensure compliance with Ontario employment legislation (ESA, OHSA, Human Rights)
Manage an existing team of 1

What We’re Looking For

8–10+ years of progressive HR experience
Proven experience building HR processes and systems in scaling or low-structure environments
Strong hands-on HR generalist background (recruitment, employee relations, HR operations, performance management, succession planning, compensation)
CHRP designation required (CHRL considered an asset)
Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable rolling up sleeves and working in a matrix environment
