Heavy Equipment Mechanic Supervisor

Your new role

  • Supervise and mentor a team of licensed 421A mechanics, apprentices, and experienced technicians
  • Oversee daily repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities for a wide range of heavy equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems with efficiency and accuracy
  • Conduct inspections and implement preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime
  • Support task scheduling, work prioritization, and planning in collaboration with the Maintenance Team and Operations Team
  • Lead Monthly Shop Supervisor Safety Inspections and promote a culture of safety-first
  • Utilize CMMS (Maximo) for work order management, reporting, and maintenance tracking
  • Organize and maintain the shop environment, including tools, inventory, and parts
  • Provide clear direction and delegate tasks effectively to maximize team productivity

What you'll need to succeed

  • Valid 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification (an asset)
  • Proven supervisory experience in heavy equipment maintenance
  • You have strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • You have the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
  • Take a proactive problem-solving approach with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in demanding, outdoor industrial environments
  • You have previous experience with CMMS systems (an asset)
