Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a large Canadian company located in Mississauga, ON. We are looking to hire a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to join their team on a contract basis of 12 months, which has the possibility of extension. This candidate will be working from their Mississauga Office on a hybrid basis.

Your new role

  • Lead and develop a small finance team, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and career development.
  • Act as a strategic finance partner, providing insights and guidance on business decisions, risks, and opportunities.
  • Drive the creation of annual operating and strategic plans, covering full P&L and balance sheet accounts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional finance teams to update monthly forecasts and communicate key drivers of change.
  • Oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate FP&A deliverables.
  • Deliver in-depth financial analysis and modeling to support initiatives such as product development, pricing strategies, and market assessments.
  • Participate in rotating projects across various financial disciplines, including investment planning and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics, scorecards, and reporting tools to support decision-making.
  • Support the design and maintenance of cash flow forecasts and working capital planning.
  • Lead finance-driven initiatives to enhance processes and systems.
  • Partner with technology teams to identify and implement automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Provide ad hoc FP&A support across the organization.
  • Contribute to leadership discussions and strategic planning within the finance function.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required); MBA or recognized accounting designation (CPA/CMA/CGA) preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in finance or business operations.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving performance.
  • Strong understanding of P&L management, financial systems, and accounting principles.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage ambiguity.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills across departments and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration and project execution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems such as SAP is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
