Financial Controller - Barrie, ON
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee and ensure accurate preparation of financial statements, reconciliations, and cash flow reports.
- Maintain financial controls and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and manage accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Payroll & Accounts Receivable and Payable Processing
- Oversee and process Corporate business biweekly payroll processing for approximately 230 employees, related remittances and annual payroll reporting requirements (ie. T4s, related filings) and reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and tenant transactions.
- Resolve financial discrepancies and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Responsible for the overall planning and completion, and quality assurance of the annual budget process for residential, commercial and corporate business divisions, including consolidated budgets for each division
- Develop, review, and finalize MIT budgets and annual adjustments.
- Track financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
Audit & Compliance
- Prepare financial statements and documentation for external audits.
- Oversee and ensure adherence and accurate filing of WSIB, HST, and other tax compliance requirements.
- Maintain clean audit results by implementing robust financial controls.
