Financial Analyst supporting regional FP&A and management reporting in Downtown
Your new company
A leading supplier of aggregates and construction materials, with a collaborative, flat finance team supporting multiple product lines across the region. The company values technical expertise, a proactive approach, and a willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic, supportive environment.
Your new role
Due to an internal promotion, this organization is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its regional finance team, reporting directly to the Director of Finance. This role is critical in supporting full-cycle financial reporting, FP&A, and management decision-making for the region. The successful candidate will work closely with controllers, analysts, and shared services, and will be exposed to the full P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow for multiple business units.
- Prepare and consolidate monthly income statements, EBIT statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for the region, ensuring integrity and alignment with official reported numbers.
- Maintain and update financial forecasts, supporting the Director of Finance with FP&A and management reporting.
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies across multiple sources, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
- Collaborate with controllers, shared services, and other finance team members to gather data, resolve issues, and support ad hoc requests.
- Utilize SAP, SAC (SAP Analytics Cloud), and other reporting tools to compile, analyze, and present financial data.
- Support month-end and period-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
What you'll need to succeed
- 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, or FP&A, ideally within a manufacturing, supply, or related industry (other backgrounds considered if strong technical skills are present).
- Strong technical proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP/reporting systems (SAP preferred; other ERP experience considered).
- Working towards a CPA designation (CPA candidate preferred; designation not required).
- Solid understanding of financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and ability to make sense of numbers and business structure.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to investigate and resolve data issues independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable collaborating across teams and reaching out to shared services and management.
- Proactive, quick learner, and adaptable to new systems and business environments.
What you'll get in return
- Salary: $80,000–$90,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Schedule: Full-time, hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote; flexibility during month/period end)
- Work Environment: Collaborative, supportive team with exposure to multiple business units and opportunities for growth
- Health and dental coverage
- RRSP and other standard benefits
