Fibre Optic Splicing Operations Manager — (Telecom Construction Contracting & Installation)

Location: Vaughan – Bradford-Barrie - Newmarket, ON area

Base Salary: 110K–130K base benefits, truck 5 days a week on Site

Our client is a well-established construction subcontractor in the telecommunications infrastructure construction industry and specializes in laying down fiber-optic network solutions across Canada. They have a job open for a Fibre Optic Splicing Operations Manager for their Fibre Optic Splicing & installation Infrastructure projects across Canada. You will be responsible for overseeing the remotely deployed splicing technicians, ensuring all work is progressing on time and as per the customer specs, and provide the project updates to the senior leadership. This job is based in the Vaughan – Bradford-Barrie, ON area and will require some travel (less than 30%) to the splicing sites.

Fibre Optic Splicing Operations Manager will oversee all fibre-splicing activities across multiple construction and installation sites and projects. You will lead internal splicing crews and subcontractors, ensuring all work meets required quality, performance, and safety standards. Your responsibilities will include developing work plans, monitoring productivity, coordinating with project and construction teams, managing OTDR testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and maintaining QA/QC processes. You will play an essential role in ensuring seamless project delivery and the integrity of all network builds.

- Overseeing all fibre-optic splicing activities across active projects

- Supervising and supporting splicing technicians and subcontractors

- Reviewing OTDR test results, splice losses, and troubleshooting network issues

- Coordinating daily and weekly work plans with construction and project teams

- Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all splicing documentation

Fibre Optic Splicing Operations Manager will have a minimum of 5–8 years of Splicing Project management & leadership experience (MUST have, no exceptions). Ideally managing unionized splicing technicians and crews, project planning and scheduling, strong technical knowledge of fusion splicing, ribbon and single-fiber splicing, OTDR testing, power meter analysis, troubleshooting, and fibre documentation requirements. Strong English communication along with familiarity with major telecom standards and fiber-management systems are highly preferred.
