Your new role
As an Associate Lawyer practicing family law, you will be working under one of the Partners at the firm leading the Family Law portion of the business. This partner has over 20 years of Is looking for someone to join himself, 2 other Junior Associates and a Family Law Clerk, in helping to lead the family law practice into a thriving and successful future.
- Draft pleadings, affidavits, separation agreements, parenting plans, and financial statements.
- Prepare and review legal opinions and settlement proposals
- Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in mediation and collaborative law settings
- Manage client expectations and maintain strong communication throughout the case lifecycle
- Telephone and in-person contact with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts
- Track your billable time (1200 hour target)
What you'll need to succeed
- 5 or more years into call practicing Family Law
- Active book of business (Required)
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
Business development-minded individual who wants to continue to grow this family law practice and their existing business
- Strong analytical skills with excellent oral and written communication
- Expansive knowledge of Ontario’s Family Law Rules, legislation, and case law
What you'll get in return
- $175,000 Total Compensation (Base + Profit Sharing)
- Profit-sharing payment of 40% above collection targets

- 2 days WFH (as the business allows for it) following a 3-month probation (5 days a week)
