Job Title: Construction Estimator
Location: Etobicoke,
Hours: 8am to 5 pm, Mon to Fri in the office.

They are currently looking for a motivated Estimator to join our growing team and support the preparation of accurate and competitive project bids.

Position Overview: As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for attending site meetings, discussing scopes of repairs with clients, preparing quantity take-offs, developing cost estimates, and assisting in the bidding process. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret construction drawings, and strong analytical skills. You’ll work closely with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure our estimates reflect realistic costs and align with project goals. The successful candidate will become a part of the company culture and will shape our collective way forward.

Key Responsibilities:
• Review pictures, reports, and information gathered via email, text, and site meetings to provide an educated scope of repairs
• Review architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to understand project requirements
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs for materials, labour, and equipment
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings, site visits, and historical data
• Assist in the preparation and submission of bid packages and proposals
• Request and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
• Collaborate with project managers and senior estimators to finalize project costs
• Maintain organized and up-to-date records of estimates and bid documents
• Communicate with clients and team members to clarify project scope and requirements.

Requirements:
• Strong English proficiency is mandatory – both verbal and written
• 3–5 years of experience in construction estimating or a related role
• Diploma or degree in Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
• Minimum 1 year in hands-on construction (preferred)
• Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and terminology
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word
• Working knowledge of Apple computers is a plus
• Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Contractor Foreman, Pipedrive, Planswift, Bluebeam etc.) is a plus.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good communication and organizational abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Diploma or degree in Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
