Our client is a leading manufacturer of custom-built heavy equipment (Boilers, Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers and similar) and has a job open for Metal Fabrication Engineering Manager / Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Custom Built -New Product Development).
within the CNC, Milling, Grinding, Welding type processes. The job is based in
KW area – Cambridge-Guelph, ON area. Candidates must be experienced in leading teams and managing engineering budgets (manufacturing Engineering) and be fully responsible for BOM costs, in-house & external production timeline management, engineering changes, APQP and similar within a fast-paced low-volume custom metal fabrication environment. A clear criminal check is required.

Metal Fabrication Engineering Manager / Manufacturing Engineering Manager -

(Custom Built -New Product Development) is a leadership yet hands-on role. You will be responsible for the product manufacturing cycle within custom fabrication, leading manufacturing engineering teams through product delivery with full responsibility for coaching, mentoring and performance management. You will maintain all engineering team KPIs – (BOM cost management, capacity optimization, product delivery timing and similar ). You will optimize capacity, manufacturability, equipment and resource availability (internal and external), quality and process improvement through lean and other continuous improvement initiatives. You will oversee and maintain all engineering changes department timelines, risk assessments, APQP, Work Instructions, resource and capacity planning, through production delivery in this NPI driven - CNC, Machining, Milling, Welding type environment.

Metal Fabrication Engineering Manager / Manufacturing Engineering Manager - (Custom Built -New Product Development) MUST have New Product Introduction project management experience in low volume heavy custom equipment manufacturing like heat exchangers, boilers, pressure vessels and similar (MIG welding, hard-wire, Flux Core and similar), with ideally 1–2 years of people management experience, Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering with strong experience from CNC & weld custom metal fabrication industry. PMP, P. Eng highly preferred.
