About the Role
Our client, a well-established and reputable organization within the electrical construction industry, is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join their growing team. This individual will play a key role in supporting the electrical estimating department, providing accurate cost analysis, takeoffs, and tender preparation for a wide range of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing for tenders, proposals, and project changes.
Develop material, labour, and equipment cost breakdowns aligned with project specifications and scope.
Review and analyze incoming proposals, providing recommendations and supporting contract negotiations.
Establish unit costs, labour rates, productivity benchmarks, and project-specific impact factors.
Evaluate allowances for indirect costs, design uncertainties, escalation, and contingencies.
Lead estimate presentations and participate in client review meetings.
Review drawings, specifications, and documentation to determine full project scope.
Conduct complete takeoffs and develop accurate, well-documented estimate packages.
Maintain current, organized records including pricing from suppliers, product sheets, and historical cost data.
Collaborate closely with Project Managers for handover, re-estimating, cost tracking, and project adjustments.
Work with the Estimating Manager to review all final estimate submissions for accuracy and completeness.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Construction Estimation or a related field considered an asset.
Minimum 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Estimator within the electrical construction industry.
Strong communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Excellent time management and adaptability to shifting priorities.
Proficient computer skills; experience with Accubid and Microsoft Office Suite required.
