An Electrical Estimator is needed in Ottawa's east end, up to 125K+ for the right person!

Hays Construction & Development is once again partnered with our long-time client, who is a specialist in electrical contracting. They work across public and private sectors and have been a dependable resource in the industry for decades.

Your new role
As an Electrical Estimator, you’ll take the lead on new construction, renovation, and design-build projects in the ICI sector—ranging from $10K to $10M. You’ll manage the full lifecycle of tenders, RFQs, and design-build opportunities from concept to close, working closely with operations and leadership to ensure successful project delivery.

In this role you will have responsibilities for:
  • Analyze drawings, specs, and tender documents
  • Perform take-offs, pricing, and bid submissions
  • Lead bid closings and contract reviews
  • Coordinate with field teams, vendors, and clients
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Support project execution and client communications

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this job, you must have
  • Post Secondary education in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or RSE 309A License
  • 5+ years in electrical estimating/project management
  • Proficiency in Accubid or McCormick, and Microsoft Project
  • Experience with bid portals and submission packages
  • Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills
  • Financial acumen and problem-solving ability
You should also have the ability to obtain a Canadian Federal Government security clearance, i.e. 5–10 years of residency and a clean criminal record.
