Your new role
This is a senior, hands‑on role focused on mission‑critical electrical systems for data centres and similar highly demanding facilities.
In the initial phase, your priority will be to act as the firm’s local technical eyes and ears on active construction projects in the Calgary area. Over time, the role will evolve toward deeper technical involvement, project leadership, and long‑term growth within the Calgary operation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing electrical designs and construction drawings for mission‑critical facilities
- Providing site supervision and field support during active construction phases
- Coordinating with contractors, clients, and internal engineering teams
- Supporting systems related to generators, UPS, ATS, and critical power distribution
- Ensuring work aligns with client standards, codes, and best practices
- Identifying technical issues early and helping drive practical solutions
- Contributing to future project development as the local team grows
What you'll need to succeed
- Approximately 10–15+ years of experience in electrical building systems
- Strong mission‑critical experience is essential Data centres
are ideal, but experience with hospitals, clean rooms, pharmaceutical facilities, or other critical environments will also be considered - P.Eng designation is preferred, but a senior technologist or technician with deep experience will also be considered
- Solid knowledge of backup power systems, UPS, generators, and critical infrastructure
- Comfortable providing site support and supervision several days per week when required
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in evolving codes, standards, and client requirements
- Clear communicator who can work confidently with stakeholders on site
- Canadian experience is required
