Director of People and Culture

Your new company

A well-established architecture and design firm is seeking a visionary Director of People & Culture to join their team in a full-time leadership role. The organization is known for delivering innovative, purpose-driven design solutions across a range of disciplines. With a reputation for collaboration and creativity, the firm fosters a people-first culture where HR plays a central role in shaping how teams work, grow, and thrive together.
The successful candidate can be based in Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, or Vancouver.

Your new role

As the Director of People & Culture, you will lead the development and delivery of strategies, services, and programs that attract, motivate, and retain a highly engaged and effective workforce. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the practice to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion, support leadership and career development, elevate the employee experience, and ensure that the People & Culture strategy aligns with the firm’s values, business goals, and vision for design excellence.
You will be responsible for workforce planning, succession strategy, employee engagement, and HR operations, while mentoring a talented HR team and influencing change across the organization. This role requires a strategic leader with deep experience in HR and a strong understanding of the architecture and design industry.

  • Demonstrated success in building inclusive, high-performing cultures and leading organizational change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster trust and alignment across diverse teams.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to translate business needs into people solutions.
  • Professional designation (e.g., CPHR) and post-secondary education in HR or a related field.
