Director, Global Marketing, Communications & Business Development
Are you a strategic marketing and communications leader with experience elevating brand presence, enabling business growth, and guiding high-performing teams? Our client—an international firm within the architecture, design, and engineering sector—is seeking a Director, Global Marketing, Communications & Business Development to lead its practice-wide marketing and BD function across multiple North American studios.

About the Role
Reporting to the Managing Partner, the Director will oversee global marketing, communications, and business development activities, partnering closely with senior leadership across multiple offices. This position plays a crucial role in defining market positioning, strengthening the firm’s brand, and supporting business growth across key sectors.
You will lead a collaborative team, steward communication platforms, drive strategic initiatives, and help shape the firm’s external profile and internal culture.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Build, lead, and elevate the global Marketing and Communications function to support the firm’s business objectives.
- Develop targeted marketing, BD, and communication strategies that reinforce market positioning and clarify the firm’s value proposition.
- Guide reputation-building initiatives and support partners with strategic market insights.
Marketing & Communications Management
- Oversee digital platforms including the website, social media, internal communications, marketing collateral, award submissions, and events.
- Manage relationships with external PR and marketing partners.
- Create and execute short-, mid-, and long‑term marketing and communications plans aligned with organizational goals.
Business Development Enablement
- Support partners and project teams in their business development efforts.
- Develop data-driven processes to track opportunities, measure performance, and identify trends.
- Enable consistent, high-quality service to business leaders on all BD initiatives.
Team Leadership
- Coach, mentor, and support a distributed team across multiple studios.
- Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and alignment across regions.
- Promote a high-performing, service‑oriented team culture.
Who You Are
- A strategic, creative, and forward-thinking leader with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Skilled in managing multiple teams, programs, and priorities across geographically dispersed locations.
- Adept at working collaboratively and influencing at all levels of an organization.
- Confident in your ability to lead reputation strategy, business development initiatives, and integrated marketing communication programs.
- Experienced with emerging and traditional media, and comfortable navigating digital ecosystems.
Experience required:
- Minimum 8 years in a senior leadership role overseeing strategic and operational marketing, communications, and BD functions in a professional services environment.
- Must have experience in professional services marketing, within architecture, engineering, design, or similar creative industries.
- Strength in coaching, motivating, and aligning high-performing teams.

Salary range: $200,000 - $225,00/year + Bonus (25%)
Work model: Hybrid (3 days in office)
Hours expected: 8 am – 5 pm
Travel requirements: 25%
