Your new company
Our client is a recognized leader in residential renovation and custom home construction in the Ottawa area. With a collaborative and dynamic work culture, the organization fosters professional growth and encourages leadership at all levels. As part of the Leadership Team, you’ll help shape the strategic direction of a company that values integrity, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Your new role
As the Design & Sales Director, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for securing and delivering renovation and custom home contracts. You’ll oversee the sales process, guide the design team, and collaborate with construction to ensure projects meet company standards. Your role includes mentoring staff, driving business development, and contributing to strategic decisions as part of the company’s Leadership Team.
- Leading the sales team to meet annual targets using a defined sales process.
- Providing oversight and support to the design team, including architectural and interior designers.
- Ensuring client satisfaction throughout all project phases.
- Preparing operational and financial reports for the sales department.
- Staying current with design trends, building codes, and sustainable practices.
- Managing vendor and subtrade relationships.
- Developing and refining policies, procedures, and design standards.
What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you’ll need a strong blend of leadership, design expertise, and strategic thinking. Ideally, you hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, and bring proven experience in sales and design leadership—particularly within the residential design/build sector. A successful track record in sales management and meeting targets is essential, along with a background in architectural or interior design. You should be well-versed in OBC and Ottawa zoning regulations, and proficient with tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, BuilderTrend, and MS Office. Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills are key, as is the ability to lead and inspire teams in a collaborative environment. A strategic mindset, passion for customer service and innovation, and familiarity with EOS and project management principles will further support your success in this role.
What you'll get in return
You’ll be joining a company that truly values its people and fosters a strong, positive culture. In return for your leadership and expertise, you’ll step into a strategic role with real influence over the company’s direction, supported by a collaborative and engaged team environment. You’ll have access to ongoing professional development opportunities and the chance to gain industry recognition, all while working with a company committed to excellence and sustainability. Plus, you’ll be part of a workplace that celebrates teamwork, success, and knows how to have fun along the way. Compensation for the role includes a competitive base + sales bonus, 4 weeks' vacation, extended health and dental benefits and additional company perks.
