Job Description:

The Data Security Architect is responsible for designing and implementing robust security frameworks across data platforms including Power BI, Azure Databricks, and Microsoft Purview. This role ensures secure access, data segregation, and compliance with regulatory standards while supporting enterprise-wide data protection initiatives. Key Responsibilities Architecture & Design - Develop and maintain security architecture for data platforms, including Power BI dashboards, Databricks notebooks, and Purview catalogs. - Design role-based access controls (RBAC), data segregation models, and secure data dissemination strategies. - Collaborate with enterprise architects to align data security with broader IT and business strategies. Governance & Compliance - Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CPRA, GLBA, HIPAA. - Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies for vulnerabilities in data systems. - Support audits and implement controls for data lineage, encryption, and access management. Collaboration & Advisory - Work closely with business analysts, data architects, and project managers to translate business requirements into secure technical solutions. - Provide guidance on secure dashboard/report access and data movement across cloud and hybrid environments. - Propose security solutions post internal sessions and coordinate with implementation teams. Technical Environment - Platforms: Azure Databricks, Power BI, Microsoft Purview, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL - Tools: Unity Catalog, Azure DevOps, Sentinel, Defender for Cloud - Languages: Python, SQL, Spark - Certifications Preferred:
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
• Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) Insurance-Specific Use Cases - Secure claims and policy data pipelines across multiple insurance platforms. - Implement data protection strategies for customer 360 views and fraud detection models. - Design secure environments for AI-driven document scanning and analytics.
