Job Title: Data Management Business Analyst
Contract Duration: ASAP start, 6 months with possible extension

About the Role
AIMCo is seeking a Data Management Business Analyst to join their team on a full-time contract basis. This role is pivotal in advancing AIMCo’s data governance initiatives and ensuring high-quality data solutions for internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will work closely with investment teams and business units to identify data needs, improve data quality, and enhance metadata management.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior data owners and become a subject matter expert in data domains.
- Liaise between data owners and the data management team to deliver data quality solutions.
- Analyze and document business processes and metadata for applications and datasets.
- Populate and enhance the enterprise data catalog to improve metadata quality.
- Define and implement data quality rules in partnership with stakeholders.
- Communicate complex investment data concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Identify and drive improvements in data processes, quality, and governance.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in investment data management.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or related field (Advanced degrees preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in Asset Management, with strong knowledge of investment data types and instruments (Private Data, Performance, Fixed Income, Compliance).
- Proven experience as a data business analyst.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an Agile environment.
- Experience implementing data governance frameworks and data quality initiatives.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with enterprise data catalog tools (e.g., Atlan, Collibra).
- Familiarity with enterprise data quality platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Power BI, and Microsoft Azure.
- Exposure to Blackrock Aladdin or SimCorp Dimension platforms.
- Relevant certifications such as CFA, CAIA, FRM, or CDMP.
