Your new role

• Act as the primary point of contact for capital accounting matters, providing expert guidance and support to internal stakeholders and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards.
• Oversee the monitoring and month-end close of capital projects using PowerPlan, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain monthly rate base and forecast models, along with supporting documentation to facilitate regulatory filings and strategic decision-making.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries for capital assets, and produce detailed financial reports, reconciliations, and variance analyses to support business operations.
• Interpret and communicate capital accounting policies effectively, ensuring consistent application across teams and projects.
• Respond to audit inquiries and ad hoc requests for financial information, demonstrating a thorough understanding of capital accounting processes and controls.
• Coordinate lease accounting activities within PowerPlan, ensuring accurate classification, valuation, and reporting of leased assets.

What you'll need to succeed

• 4-5 years experience working as a Capital Accountant
• Good understanding of capital accounting policies
• Skilled in preparing monthly capital asset journal entries, financial reports, reconciliations, and analysis
