Your new role
As a Corporate Legal Assistant, you’ll support a team of lawyers in the Corporate/Commercial Law group. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing and filing corporate documents such as incorporations, amendments, dissolutions, and annual returns
  • Maintaining and updating corporate minute books and records
  • Drafting correspondence, resolutions, agreements, and other legal documentation
  • Coordinating closings of corporate transactions and preparing closing books
  • Conducting corporate searches and due diligence using platforms like Cyberbahn and OnCorp
  • Managing lawyers’ calendars, scheduling meetings, and arranging travel
  • Opening, maintaining, and closing client files in accordance with firm procedures
  • Liaising professionally with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you’ll bring:
  • A Legal Assistant diploma or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in a corporate legal assistant role, preferably within a law firm
  • Strong understanding of corporate procedures and legal terminology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software such as iManage and PCLaw
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities
