Position Overview
The Controller will act as a key partner to senior financial leadership, overseeing the organization’s accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial activities. This role is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, while also providing insight and analysis to support firm‑wide strategic initiatives. The Controller will lead and develop the finance team and play an important role in driving process improvement and systems optimization.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee full‑cycle accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and month‑end and year‑end close processes.
- Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with clear analysis for senior leadership.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls to ensure accuracy of financial reporting and protection of firm assets.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare regular forecasts and variance analysis to support strategic planning.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity and effective working capital management.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements.
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and ongoing optimization of financial systems and accounting software.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and introduce automation to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Lead finance‑related projects and support broader, cross‑functional initiatives as required.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering accountability, engagement, and professional growth.
- Partner closely with executive leadership and department heads to provide financial insight and support business objectives.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- CPA designation
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a Controller or comparable senior finance role.
- Strong technical accounting background with experience in financial reporting and compliance.
- Proven ability to lead and develop an accounting team in a professional environment.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
