Hays Construction & Development is partnered with our large Mechanical & Electrical subcontractor client to recruit for the exciting role of Construction Manager in Ottawa! You will take ownership of a growing Ottawa team while driving major mechanical projects in the National Capital Region. Your new role

As the Construction Manager, your day-to-day job will encompass leading and growing a small but expanding team. You will also take on responsibility for networking with your clients and attending industry events, always in the pursuit of new projects for your team.

Providing project leadership: Managing mechanical scopes (HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal) on mid-to-large projects.

Ensuring operational excellence by assigning work, overseeing budgets, schedules, and ensuring profitability and always keeping an eye on strategic growth: You will also participate in RFPs, preconstruction planning, and risk management for major projects.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this very important role, you should have a strong personality, be organized, and process-driven. You must have strong experience in mechanical construction (HVAC, plumbing, piping) with exposure to electrical/technology, ideally 10 years or more. Your post-secondary education should include Engineering or related field.

You should have the demonstrated ability to build relationships and drive results, a proven track record as a Project Manager or Construction Manager, engineering or trade experience is an asset.

You must be eligible for Canadian Government security clearance; 10 years of residency is a mandatory requirement.
