We’re looking for a skilled professional to support three busy lawyers in a thriving mid-sized business law firm located in the heart of downtown Toronto. Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and revise legal correspondence and documents.
  • Prepare briefs and records, ensuring compliance with electronic court filing standards.
  • Manage service and filing of pleadings and forms.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel.
  • Schedule meetings, travel, and maintain calendars.
  • Monitor deadlines and assist with timely filings.
  • Maintain organized files and tickler systems.
  • Handle billing, WIP, and invoicing tasks.
  • Support litigation workflows using modern legal tech tools.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial litigation and arbitration.
  • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and court processes.
  • Familiarity with Case Center and experience booking motions and attendances.
  • Experience with legal software such as ACL, Everlaw, NetDocuments, and Actionstep (or similar).
  • Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Certificate (or equivalent).
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and initiative.
  • Excellent multitasking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
