Claims Analyst for a national organization based in Guelph

Your new role

As a Claims Adjudicator, you’ll be part of the Claims Services team, managing a portfolio of files across various government-backed programs. Reporting to a Team Lead, you’ll conduct financial reviews, verify production data, liaise with clients, and determine program benefits. You’ll also collaborate with specialists and senior advisors on escalated files and provide technical guidance to junior team members.

  • Manage a portfolio of claims files, including high- and low-complexity cases

  • Conduct financial reviews and determine eligibility for program benefits

  • Analyze customer production and financial data to ensure alignment and accuracy

  • Evaluate crop and land margins, including historical vs. current performance

  • Perform backlog analysis and forward projections to assess risk and program fit

  • Verify losses and maintenance across multiple commodities and years

  • Apply critical thinking to interpret data beyond surface-level numbers

  • Collaborate with team leads and specialists on escalated or high-risk files

  • Support grant recovery work and maintain margin history documentation

  • Coach junior team members and contribute to quarterly and annual reporting


What you'll need to succeed

  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, claims adjudication, auditing, financial examiner or agricultural finance

  • Post-secondary education in business, economics, agriculture, or related field

  • Strong analytical, interpretive, and communication skills

  • Experience working with complex data sets and financial documentation

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

  • Comfortable with customer interaction and cross-functional collaboration

  • Canadian market experience and understanding of agricultural production cycles

  • Professional designations (CPA, CIP, FIIC) are assets
