The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and ordering materials for job sites, ensuring timely and accurate processing of purchase orders, and negotiating favorable deals with suppliers while maintaining strong relationships. The role involves monitoring material pricing, coordinating direct shipments with stakeholders, and resolving supplier issues related to cost, quality, or delivery. It also includes tracking and expediting orders, evaluating supplier performance, supporting cost-reduction initiatives, researching new materials and strategies for efficiency, and taking on additional duties and organizational tasks as needed. Along with the day to day purchasing, the Buyer will be working closely with the Purchasing Manager on sourcing strategies and identifying the best products for value. Experience working for an electrical / mechanical contractor is a necessity. You will be communicating with project manager’s on site to get the job specifications and engage the necessary suppliers.

To be an ideal Buyer for this client, candidates should have experience working with a multi-trade contractor or supporting project-based purchasing, specifically involving electrical or mechanical products. A strong understanding of how purchasing aligns with project requirements is essential. The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a high-volume construction environment, with prior construction experience considered an asset. In addition to technical expertise, excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills are critical for success in this position.
